ABC fire extinguisher or multi purpose dry chemical extinguisher is a dry chemical extinguishing agent used on Class A , B and C fires. It forms a coat over the fire zone and it insulates the fire from flashing back to the user. Class A fires, which are emanated by combustion of common materials such as paper, wood or thrash, are insulated by ABC fire extinguisher. The dry chemical powder breaks the chain reaction of Class B fires by forming a coating on the surface where it is sprayed. ABC is safe for Class C fires as there is no conductivity of the electricity from the fire zone after spraying the ABC dry chemical fire extinguisher.
